Brian Fonseca, PT, DPT
Licensed Physical Therapist
Brian is a licensed physical therapist born and raised in San Diego, California. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2024 after completing his Bachelors of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy from San Diego State University in 2021. Throughout his studies he has worked with a vast population ranging from traditional post op clients to those with neuromuscular and cardiovascular conditions but has a passion for working with athletes and weekend warriors of all ages.
Why he chose PT
Brian’s passion for sports and inspiration for working with athletes stems from an active childhood to college through baseball and other competitive sports, which he played throughout high school and later in intramural sports during college. While his competitive edge has shifted over the years, he continues to stay active, playing casually in an adult Sunday baseball league, as well as developing a newfound love for golf, and maintaining a strong foundation in traditional strength training at the gym. More recently, Brian has taken up running, with several 5Ks under his belt and looking to improve his time.
His drive to become a physical therapist stems not only from his personal love of sports and fitness, but also from a formative experience watching his father suffer a shoulder injury that limited his ability to play and stay active with Brian and his brother. Seeing firsthand how much quality of life can be affected by injury reinforced Brian’s belief in the power of physical therapy to heal the body through appropriate mobility and strength routines, helping people return to the activities they love.
Brian enjoys working with patients of all backgrounds and activity levels. He values the opportunity to connect with each individual, understand their goals, and help guide them through the rehabilitation process. Whether treating athletes, weekend warriors, or anyone looking to move and feel better, Brian is committed to empowering patients to reach their fullest potential.
